A set of precisely cast resin barrels for the 12.7 mm (Browning) defensive machine guns of the American Martin B-26C Marauder bomber in 1:48 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces the coarser plastic barrels from the basic kit, not a stand-alone aircraft model.
The Martin B-26 Marauder was an American twin-engine medium bomber of the Second World War, powered by a pair of Pratt and Whitney R-2800 radial engines. Its high landing speed made it demanding to fly, yet in the end it was among the bombers with the lowest losses. It defended itself with 12.7 mm machine guns.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them free of mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. The thin barrels are fragile, so separate them carefully; the guns come into their own after a metallic shade and a light accent at the muzzle.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
