Full-color panels for the cockpit of the first British jet bomber, the Canberra, in the B.2 and B.20 versions, scale 1:48, for the Airfix kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The first British jet bomber flew in 1949 and in the B.2 version became the basic equipment of RAF bomber squadrons. The Canberra excelled in altitude ceiling and endurance, which secured it an unusually long career. The Australian license equivalent was the B.20 from the state factory GAF, with which No. 2 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force operated over Southeast Asia.
This full-color set equips the pilot's station and the navigator's station. The scales, the switches and the labels are printed in full color and the surface has relief, so the interior loses no depth even under a close look or a macro lens.
In the United States the Canberra was built under license under a different designation, and in British colors it served in the reconnaissance role long after the bomber versions left. The cockpit of the early machines kept its original form practically unchanged.
Experience from practice. With older molds the spacing of the instruments on the molding sometimes differs from the print. Offer the part up dry and trim any surplus rather than dipping it in water first. Trimming is always a better route than stretching a soaked panel in place, where it tears easily.
The dimensions come from 1:48 scale and from the Airfix kit. The Canberra has a glazed nose as well as a canopy over the pilot, so plenty of light gets inside and the full-color panels stand out even without the model being lit additionally.
