The Big Ed 1:48 Bell P-39Q Airacobra set of photo-etched accessories from the Eduard brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
A package in the Big Ed range brings several separate photo-etched sets for one aircraft type together into a single whole. A modeler thus gets the accessories for the 1:48 Airacobra all at once and does not have to hunt for them piece by piece.
The Airacobra was an exception among American fighters. The engine sat in the middle of the fuselage behind the pilot, the shaft to the propeller ran under the cockpit floor and the cannon barrel passed through the nose. The cockpit was entered through car-type doors and the nosewheel landing gear was a novelty for its day. The Q version was among the most numerous, and a considerable part of these machines went to the Soviet Union, where the aircraft earned a far better reputation than on the Western Front.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with pliers. A bender or two razor blades pressed together will handle the bends. For small areas a drop of super glue applied with a pin is enough. Leave the colored parts as they are; bare brass, by contrast, will appreciate a thin primer. Finish the interior before the fuselage halves are joined.
The set serves to detail a plastic kit, which you obtain separately.
