Bf 109 F cockpit mask for the Hasegawa kit: outer stencils for the canopy frames, clear parts G, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An outer mask for the cockpit glazing of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 F in 1:48 scale. The target kit is given in the name of the item itself, including the letter of the molded sprue with the clear parts. It is by that letter that you can tell which form of the canopy the set covers, because the difference between them lies in both the shape and the number of panes.
The Bf 109 F reached combat units at the turn of 1940 and 1941 and quickly replaced the older Emils over the English Channel. The F-2 version carried a 15 mm cannon on the propeller axis, the F-4 received a heavier 20 mm weapon and the DB 601 E engine. Friedrichs flew over England, from June 1941 over the Eastern Front and in tropical form also over North Africa, where the most successful German pilots of the desert war flew them. This very type is the most frequently built of the whole development line after the later Gustavs.
First look the clear part over against the light and remove any flash from molding. Lay the stencil down with a dry hand and press it with a wooden toothpick, so that the edge does not ripple. The cockpit shade follows, then the primer and finally the camouflage. If you line the frame with a thin weathering stroke, do it only after lifting the mask off, otherwise the line will be interrupted.
