Precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:48 scale for a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the F and G versions. The set covers both versions at once, because in the areas concerned they match each other in shape. The extent of the sheet is not stated here.

The real subject

The Bf 109 was a single-engine all-metal low-wing fighter with a liquid-cooled engine. The F version brought an aerodynamically cleaner fuselage and rounded wingtips compared with the earlier machines, and the G version grew out of it with a more powerful engine and gradually increasing bulges on the upper part of the fuselage. The differences in shape between the F and the G are minimal in some areas and fundamental in others - which is why masks are also sold in narrower variants for one version only.

Before you start sticking them down

• Offer the mask up dry and check that its shape fits the part on your model.
• The base has to be cured, free of grease and rid of dust.
• Press the edge of the mask down and spray the paint in thin layers perpendicular to it.
• Remove the mask shortly after the paint has dried, at a sharp angle back over itself.

Who the set is for

For a modeler building the Bf 109 in the F or G version in 1:48 scale who wants the color areas sprayed with a sharp edge. The masks are cut to the shapes of a particular kit, so on a model from another maker always check the position dry first.

The package contains masks only. The model, paints and thinner are not part of it.
