A combination of masking film, decals and metal parts for the Bf 109F-2 in 1:48 scale. It includes masking of the outer face of the glazing, two marks for the national insignia, a decal sheet, two MG 17 machine guns and a Pitot tube.

The F-2 sub-version differs from the later machines in the armament mounted in the axis of the propeller. Instead of a twenty-millimeter weapon an MG 151 cannon of fifteen millimeters caliber worked here, which had a higher muzzle velocity but a weaker effect. It was with these machines that the fighter units left for North Africa and the Channel in the spring of 1941, when the wings still carried smooth outlines without the later bulges and stores.
Besides masking of the outer glazing and a pair of marks for the fuselage insignia, the envelope also holds a decal sheet and metal equipment, two machine guns and an airspeed sensor. The pattern for the shapes was the Hasegawa kit.
The set offers two routes to the same goal and the builder has to decide which one to take. A marking sprayed through a mask looks better, because it has no glossy edge of carrier film, but it means first applying a light base, letting it dry, offering the mask up and only then spraying the color of the border. A decal is finished in ten minutes, only it breaks up on rough matte paint. Anyone who chooses the masks works half a day longer. Anyone who reaches for the decals saves time and leaves the film unused.
The glazing is covered from the outside only. The inner frames therefore wait for a fine brush and a patient hand, because they will be visible once the model is finished. Add to that the fitting of the metal machine guns, which belongs to the very end of the build, when the fuselage is sprayed, clear coated and the film removed. Fitting them earlier tends to end with paint in the muzzle and the whole point of the metal replacement is lost.
