A resin replacement pilot seat of the metal type for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the F, G and K versions in 1:48 scale. The set from the Quickboost range, made by the Czech firm Aires, is an easy way to give a cockpit crisper detail - the seat is, after all, one of the most visible elements under an open canopy. It is not a model in its own right, and the basic kit has to be obtained separately.
The Bf 109 was among the most widespread fighter aircraft of the Second World War and its F, G and K versions shared a similar layout of the pilot's compartment. Seats of metal and of wooden construction both appeared in the cockpits; this set represents the metal type with a shaped pan for a pilot with a back parachute.
First wash the casting in soapy water, then cut off the casting block and sand the mating surface gently (with respiratory protection). Glue the seat in with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in place of the part from the kit. Paint it in an interior shade matching the machine you have chosen, add a dark wash into the recesses and suggest the wear of the edges with a pencil; seat belts added separately will lift the whole.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The basic aircraft kit is not included in the package.
