This is a resin accessory from the Quickboost brand, not an aircraft kit. It replaces the propeller, that is the part that is visible from every angle on a finished model and whose shape decides the overall impression of the front of the machine. A resin casting allows a thinner blade section and a sharper leading and trailing edge than those that come out of a split injection mold. It also does away with sanding the seam in the middle of the spinner, which with plastic propellers is among the most unpleasant operations of the whole build.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G was a single-engine fighter powered by a liquid-cooled inverted V12. The revolutions were transmitted by a three-blade metal propeller with adjustable blade pitch and with a hub cover whose shape and length changed during production of the G series. That is exactly why with models of the G series it pays to compare the shape of the spinner and the blades against a photograph of a particular machine: the differences between early and late examples are small but clearly noticeable from the front.
The propeller is painted separately from the airframe and fitted right at the very end. After cutting the casting block off, fine-tune the face that seats on the shaft so that the propeller sits square, because a tilted propeller spoils even an otherwise successful model. Wash the casting free of mold release, spray it with primer and paint the blades a dark shade with a matte surface; deal with the spinner according to the markings you use on the model. If you want to keep it turning, leave the shaft free and glue only the washer behind the propeller. It is glued with super glue, because classic cement for polystyrene will not join resin.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package. It is not a standalone model, because it requires a corresponding kit in 1:48 scale.
