Eduard masks Bf 109K 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the German Bf 109K fighter. It gives sharp paint edges on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a plastic model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109K fighter. It is not a kit or a model in its own right, but a set of accurately shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp paint edges on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without lengthy cutting of tape by hand.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is among the most significant fighters of the Second World War. The K version, nicknamed Kurfürst, was the last large-production variant, from the end of the war, with an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine, an airframe tuned for performance and lightened canopy framing. It was committed in the defense of the Reich's airspace in the last months of the conflict.
Degrease the canopy glazing and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the frame of the windscreen and the hinged section, pressing them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the hub. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a sharp angle. The set also makes it easier to suggest the sharp edges of the camouflage fields typical of late German machines.
The package contains only the masks. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
