Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds auxiliary drop tanks for the model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109K in 1:48 scale, and in three types, as the name says. The modeler can pick the version that matches the machine and the period being built and keep the remaining parts in reserve for another build. The tanks hang under the fuselage on a pylon and are among the most conspicuous additions to the silhouette of the aircraft.
Three types in one box
Auxiliary tanks were made by various suppliers during the war and differed in shape and in the design of the attachment. That is exactly why choosing the right type is one of the details that distinguish individual schemes on a model, and a set with three variants gives the modeler the choice.
The Bf 109K, nicknamed Kurfürst, was the last series-produced variant of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and was used in the closing phase of the Second World War. The drop tank under the fuselage had been used on the Bf 109 family since earlier versions and considerably extended the range, which was one of the weak points of this type. It was carried on a pylon under the fuselage and could be jettisoned before combat.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry completely so that the paint holds. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a cutter and level the surface with a file; sand with breathing protection. Cyanoacrylate glue is used for gluing. It pays to paint the tank separately from the model and fit it at the very end, after the decals and the weathering.
