This set is not a kit and not an aircraft model. It is a modeling accessory, a set of shaped plugs made of flexible foam that fit exactly into the landing gear bays of the Blackburn Buccaneer model in 1:48 scale from Airfix. The model itself is not included in the package and you have to have it.
A landing gear bay is a deep, intricate cavity that a modeler usually paints and details as one of the first jobs. When the whole model is then sprayed from the outside, the bay has to be sealed reliably, otherwise paint runs into it and the finished interior is ruined. Masking such a cavity with tape and cotton wool is tedious and rarely tight anyway. The plug is simply inserted into the bay, the model is sprayed and once it is dry the plug is taken out. Fast, tight and repeatably exact. The plug also protects the bay during sanding and ordinary handling, as no sanding dust gets into the interior and the fine detail is not damaged.
The shape of a landing gear bay differs from kit to kit, which is why every set of plugs is made to measure for one particular kit. These plugs are intended for the 1:48 Blackburn Buccaneer from Airfix. They will not fit kits from other makers. Before buying, make sure this really is the kit you have.
