A masking set 1:48 Bristol Beaufighter Mk.I for painting the glazing of this British twin-engine heavy fighter. An accessory to a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aid for painting the glazed areas of this British twin-engine machine in 1:48 scale. The set does not replace the model or its clear parts; it serves to make the edge between frame and glass come out straight and without paint creeping under. The exact composition of the package is stated on the box of the set.
The Beaufighter grew out of the Beaufort torpedo bomber and turned into an exceptionally useful machine: heavily armed, roomy enough for the radars of the day and tough. The Mk.I version served as a night fighter and as a long-range escort and opened the way for the type's later use over the sea. The crew was two men seated far apart, so the model has glazing in two places on the airframe, at the front above the pilot and at the rear above the second crew member.
British camouflage tends to be two-tone with a soft transition and is sprayed from several directions; all the more reason to have the edges properly pressed down. Proceed by covering the glazing first, then applying the lower shade, then the upper camouflage, and remove the masks only at the end. Anyone who wants the frame fully colored from inside too touches it in with a small brush after removal.
