A figure of a Czechoslovak soldier of 1938 in 1:48 scale. A small format for smaller dioramas and for scenes beside aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
The real subject is a soldier of the Czechoslovak army in 1938, that is in the year of the general mobilization in September and of the peak of the crisis over the border territories. For a scene from a home setting such a figure is essential: without it a model of a vehicle or aircraft is left with no scale and no story.
The 1:48 scale is used most often for aircraft models and for smaller dioramas. A figure around 175 cm tall in reality comes out at roughly 3.6 cm in it. At such a size it is the overall impression rather than an individual detail that decides, so it pays to watch for a clean outline and a face that is not overpainted.
Cut excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder back carefully, so as not to disturb the small shape. Wash and degrease the part before painting, or the paint may not hold.
The figure suits smaller dioramas and scenes beside models in 1:48 scale, where it is to suggest size and populate a tableau. Paints, glue, a base and scenic accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
