Printed 30 lb fragmentation bombs for a model of the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk in 1:48 scale from the Czech brand Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory set by Eduard from Obrnice near Most offers three-dimensionally printed fragmentation bombs of the 30-pound weight class for a build of the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk in 1:48 scale. The PRINT designation in the name refers to the modern printing technology, thanks to which parts arise with sharper edges and a finer surface than classic casting into molds allows. The set replaces or completes the bomb armament and is not a kit of the aircraft.
Warhawks and their British counterparts the Kittyhawks quickly shifted from a purely fighter role to attacking ground targets, both over the North African desert and over China and Burma. It was exactly for that that small fragmentation munitions served, which the machine could carry several at a time and which were effective against vehicles in the open, supply columns and personnel. Small bombs also proved themselves because they did not worsen the flying qualities as much as one large store, and they were carried on auxiliary racks often added in the field. The make-up of the armament is thus one of the few features by which a particular battlefield can be captured on a model.
Cut the printed moldings away from the supports with a fine saw or a sharp blade, and never snap them. Sand the remains of the supports down and degrease the faces before spraying, so that the paint holds. Join them with cyanoacrylate glue, as ordinary cement for plastic does not take on this material.
The model of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in this item.
