This is a set of self-adhesive, precisely cut masking templates from the manufacturer AML for models of the Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.IIB fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks follow the shape of the fields of the camouflage scheme, so that the boundaries between the colors go on sharply and evenly with an airbrush, with no laborious cutting or freehand drawing. The designation part I means that this is the first of a pair of sets covering different aircraft, or rather different schemes of the real subject.

Use

• Lift the pieces off the sheet carefully, lay them on the surface according to the enclosed plan and press them down.
• Spray over a base color that has dried through, ideally in thin coats and at a right angle to the edge of the mask.
• Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off while the paint is still fresh; that is how you get a clean edge.
• Suitable for techniques with a hard as well as a slightly softened transition between shades.

Who the set is for

It will be appreciated by modelers who want an accurate and repeatable camouflage scheme on this aircraft without slow masking with tape. The masks are an accessory and not paints or decals, and the paints themselves have to be obtained separately.
