1:72 Alpha Jet E Belgian Air Force and Armeé de l´Air part 2

The real subject

The Alpha Jet is a two-seat trainer and light combat aircraft that came out of a joint French and German program and served with a number of European air forces. The form designated by the letter E is the training version. Belgian and French machines appeared during their service in a whole range of finishes, from sober everyday ones to striking anniversary paint schemes, so it is precisely the decals that decide how a finished model turns out.

What the sheet offers

A separate sheet of decals in 1:72 scale with the markings of machines of the Belgian and the French Air Force. The part 2 designation says that this is the second part of a series for the same type; the contents therefore follow on from the first volume and do not overlap with it. Which particular machines, national markings and lettering the sheet carries is stated in the instructions enclosed by the maker.

Working with the sheet

Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive form; a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined for good, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can be put back into the water. With an ordinary wet sheet, separate the parts only right before applying them. Dip the part in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it rest and slide it off the backing paper onto the model; you can guide it into place with a damp brush. The surface should be smooth and glossy, otherwise a silvery veil will form under the film. Draw the water off from the center toward the edges and cover the finished markings with varnish.

Terms of supply
