Eduard 1:48 flame dampers for the DB-7B Boston III: a 3D printed resin accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts of the kit. It is not a model but a detail set for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A 3D printed resin set of exhaust flame dampers for the engines of the DB-7B Boston III bomber and night fighter. This is an accessory for advanced modelers, not a model in its own right: the parts directly replace the exhaust manifolds from the plastic kit and are intended for the Hong Kong Models kit in 1:48 scale. Direct 3D printing allows sharp, fine detail with no mold seams.
Flame dampers were fitted to aircraft flown at night: the shrouds over the exhausts spread and shielded the glow of the exhaust gases so that the machine was not given away in the dark and the light did not dazzle the crew. The Boston III (the export version of the Douglas A-20 Havoc) served with the British and Allied air forces as a light bomber and attack aircraft.
Wash any print resin residue off the parts and cut them carefully from the print supports. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Use respiratory protection when sanding. We recommend a primer before painting.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
