Dornier Do-217J-1/2 in 1:48 scale is a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks for the glazing and the wheels. It is not a kit, but a painting accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not a model. It is a sheet of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks that cover the cockpit glazing and the tires before spraying. On a twin-engine aircraft with extensive, heavily divided glazing in the nose section such a set is a far greater help than on a single-seat fighter — the number of frames that would otherwise have to be cut by hand is simply high here, and one inaccurate edge spoils the whole impression of the finished model.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry. Lift the masks off the sheet one at a time and place them systematically, not at random — with divided glazing it easily happens that one panel stays uncovered and you find out only after spraying. On strongly curved canopies wet masking works well: put a drop of water with a little dish soap on the spot, slide the mask along it exactly into place and then press the water out with the edge of a blunt tool. Cover the open areas between the masks with liquid mask or tape. Spray the frames in the interior shade first, then the external scheme. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch.
The package contains painting masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of it.
