1:48 Dornier Do-217J-1/2 undercarriage is an Eduard photo-etched set aimed at the landing gear of a model in 1:48 scale. These are metal parts to be glued into the model, not a mask, decals or a kit.

The item belongs to the line of photo-etched detail sets of Eduard and according to its name it concentrates on the landing gear. It differs from the masking sets of the same manufacturer in that it covers nothing but adds: thin brass parts are glued into the model and stay there. From the pre-painted sets of the Zoom line, which aim mainly at the cockpit and arrive finished in color, it differs both in focus and in the fact that you will paint the sheet yourself. Do not confuse it with the Brassin resin line or with decals; these are flat metal parts.
The landing gear and the gear bays are among the places on aircraft models where simplification shows most. In reality there is a dense tangle of thin struts, rods, hoses and sheet covers there, which an injection mold cannot capture finely enough. Photo-etched sheet measuring tenths of a millimeter is far closer to scale for such features. On a twin-engine aircraft the gear bays are moreover large and easy to look into when the model is displayed.
Cut the parts off with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, otherwise the sheet will bend. Degrease it with alcohol before gluing. The struts and rods are long and narrow, so it is advisable to hold them with tweezers at both ends and bend them slowly; briefly anneal harder sheet over a flame beforehand. They are bonded with super glue applied on the tip of a piece of wire, and the gel type holds longer and gives time to adjust the position. Paint the landing gear with a primer for metal before assembly and pick out the finished assembly with a dark wash, which flows between the struts and brings out the depth.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model, paints, primer and glue are not included in the package.
