A resin detail set from the Eduard Brassin range with a faithfully cast ejection seat for a model of the carrier-based Douglas A-4 Skyhawk light attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The set combines resin parts with color-printed photo-etched belts and decals, so that once assembled the cockpit looks markedly more realistic. It is an accessory that replaces the kit seat, not a model of an aircraft.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a compact carrier-based attack aircraft, in service from the mid-1950s and used in a number of conflicts as well as in the training role. The ejection seat is the most conspicuous element of an open cockpit and a faithful replacement raises the impression of the model considerably. The set is intended for models of this type in 1:48 scale.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. Glue the resin with cyanoacrylate glue; bend the pre-printed photo-etched belts over an edge and glue them at a few points. Sand with respiratory protection.
The set is an accessory, not a model on its own. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
