The transparent printed EZ 42 gunsights in 1:48 scale from 3DF, in a package of two pieces, will replace the simplified plastic part in a cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a small accessory for a cockpit made by 3D printing from a transparent material, not a kit of an aircraft. According to the name the package contains two pieces, so it will do for two models or leave a spare in case of a mishap. The transparent print makes it possible to finish the glass of the gunsight more faithfully than a solid plastic part allows.
The EZ 42 was a German gyroscopic gunsight developed at the close of the Second World War. Unlike simpler reflector gunsights it was meant to compute the lead automatically when firing at a maneuvering target, which called for less estimating from the pilot. The development was dogged by problems of reliability and complexity, so the instrument reached only a limited number of machines of the late types. On a model it is a striking element directly in front of the pilot, which a viewer notices first.
Work cleanly with transparent parts and do not touch the optical surfaces with your fingers. Cut the remains of the supports off with a sharp knife away from the visible surface, level any small marks with a fine sanding sponge and polish the surface. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue carefully, so that the vapors do not fog the glass; a glue for transparent parts proves itself, or a minute amount on a hidden surface. Paint the body of the gunsight and leave the glass clear, or at most discreetly tinted.
