A resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale for improving the cockpit of the plastic kit of the two-seat North American F-100F Super Sabre in its late version. The set replaces the original interior with finely cast parts for the tandem cockpit, with well-detailed instrument panels, side consoles and seats for both positions. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a kit.
The F-100 Super Sabre, nicknamed the Hun, was the first American production fighter able to reach supersonic speed in level flight. The two-seat F-100F served as a trainer and in combat, among other things in the Wild Weasel role; it was powered by a Pratt & Whitney J57 with afterburner. The late version designation refers to the later production form of the cockpit.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent and separate them carefully from the casting blocks. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and resin should be sanded with your airways protected. Check the fit before the fuselage is closed. The interior is brought out with a shaded cockpit color, a dry brush on the edges and a wash into the recesses.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
