The faithfully cast scoops have open inlets and clean edges that are hard to form in the plastic from the box. The part is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
The small air scoops on the fuselage are a detail that simplified plastic parts often close off or flatten. The resin casting offers open inlets and fine edges, so the surface of the aircraft looks accurate and technical. Once glued in place and painted, they add authenticity to the finished model.
