A resin accessory from Aires in 1:48 scale. This is not a model, but a set of finely cast landing gear bays for the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter fighter. The set is intended for the plastic F-104 kit in this scale from Kinetic.
Resin landing gear bays bring a rich structure of ribs, lines, wiring and rivets that the plastic parts from the box usually do not have. Open bays are clearly visible on the underside of the fuselage of a finished model, so the detail shows markedly.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces gently with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Fitting usually calls for modifying (grinding out) the space in the fuselage, so it suits more experienced modelers. Paint and tone the bays before closing up the airframe.
The set contains the resin parts of the landing gear bays. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
