An accessory set in 1:48 scale for a model of the American F-105 fighter-bomber. Intended to improve a kit of this machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-105 Thunderchief was an American fighter-bomber of the 1950s and 1960s and at the same time one of the largest single-seat combat aircraft ever to serve. It was built around speed and the load carried: it has a slender fuselage, a swept wing and the air intakes in its roots. Unusual is the internal bomb bay, which fighter aircraft do not normally have. Over Vietnam it flew a large share of the strike missions, and among crews the nickname Thud took hold for it.
This is an accessory set of parts that is built into a kit in 1:48 scale. The name ties it to the F-105 type but does not say which parts of the aircraft the set covers or which kit it is cut for. That is given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set, which you should follow when fitting it. In 1:48 scale accessory sets pay off where the viewer looks from close up, that is, in the cockpit, in the landing gear wells and on the armament.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for plastic will not join them; use super glue applied in tiny drops. Cut off excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder carefully so that no hollow appears in the shape. Level the mating surfaces on sandpaper laid on a flat base and test-fit the part dry first. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold.
This is an accessory set. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
