A set of stencils for the two-seat Thunderchief: the framing of the glazed part of the cockpit and, with it, pieces for the landing gear wheels, 1:48 scale.
The G version grew out of the two-seat airframe and turned into a machine specialized against ground air defenses. In the back sat an electronic warfare operator, who searched out the transmissions of guidance radars. Along the lower part of the sides of the fuselage the machine carried a pair of long fairings with jamming equipment and anti-radiation missiles hung under the wing. These machines went into a threatened area first and left last, to cover the others. The designation Wild Weasel took hold for such a task and the machines carried it until the end of the 1970s. The longer glazed section and the side fairings change the outline so much that the G version cannot be confused with a single-seat machine.
The side fairings and the lengthened cockpit increase the area you have to bound when camouflaging, so plan the work out in advance. Deal with the wheels away from the airframe: the dark tone of the rubber, the stencil onto it and the lighter hub at the end. Leave the canopy frames to the same stage as the cockpit, so that the shade inside follows on from the rest of the cockpit. If you are building a model with the canopy open, go through the order of colors in the rear section beforehand as well.
