An injection-molded plastic kit of the American General Dynamics F-111A Aardvark tactical bomber in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The F-111A was the first production version of this machine with variable-geometry wings and a cockpit with two seats side by side. The package contains clear parts for the cockpit glazing. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of marking options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The F-111 was an American two-seat tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing that allowed both slow flight with the wings spread and high speed in the swept arrangement. It was powered by a pair of TF30 engines and was designed for low-level penetration to the target with automatic terrain following. The F-111A version was the basic air force production variant and saw use in the fighting over Southeast Asia, among other places. The crew consisted of a pilot and a navigator seated side by side.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint and accent the roomy side-by-side cockpit before the fuselage is closed, and mask the clear glazing while spraying. Pay attention to the mechanism and to the position of the variable-geometry wings. Apply primer and the colors with an airbrush, put the decals on over a gloss clear coat and accent the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
