This is not a model of the aircraft but an interior set. It replaces the cockpit from the F-111C kit in 1:48 scale with a resin casting and, according to the name, adds three-dimensional decals to it, which are used on the instruments and the panels. On this type the cockpit is clearly visible on the finished model, because the cabin has extensive glazing and the stations of both crew members sit side by side.
The F-111 is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing and a crew seated side by side. The F-111C version was delivered to the Royal Australian Air Force and came about by combining an airframe corresponding to the F-111A version with a longer wing and strengthened landing gear. The machines served for a long time and went through upgrades that showed in the equipment of the cabin as well; the designation of the set refers precisely to the late form of the interior. For a modeler the important thing is that the instrument fit of the late machines differs from the early form, and mixing the two states up is one of the frequent inaccuracies.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water, so that no mold release agent is left on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and sand the mating surfaces flat, otherwise the cockpit will not fit into the fuselage; sand wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue. Apply a primer before painting and paint the interior before you close the fuselage up. Three-dimensional decals differ from classic wet ones; with some products they are not released in water and a softener is as a rule not used on them, so go by the instructions in the package for the particular procedure. Always try the seating of the cockpit dry before you glue the fuselage halves together.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
