Aires (Quickboost) 1:48 F-14A Tomcat beaver tail is a resin accessory for the rear fuselage section between the engines of a Grumman F-14A Tomcat model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail part in 1:48 scale from Aires, Quickboost line. This is not an aircraft model but a replacement for the so-called beaver tail, the flat rear fuselage section between the engine nacelles of the F-14 Tomcat. The resin version faithfully captures the shape and the surface detail of this area, which plastic parts render only in simplified form.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American twin-engine naval fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The F-14A version was the first production variant put into service with the US Navy. The flat rear end between the engines, nicknamed the beaver tail, is one of the aircraft's striking shapes and one that modelers often care about.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin part, cut off the casting block and sand it with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before gluing it in, check the fit against the end of the fuselage carefully and adjust the mating surfaces if needed. Paint the surface to follow on from the surrounding camouflage and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
