A resin detail accessory with position lights for the American Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aftermarket part from the brand Quickboost. The small castings replace the coarser plastic parts from a base kit with sharply shaped lights that look realistic once painted or lit up.
The F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable geometry wing, recognizable by its pair of fins and the large fuselage between the engines. The A version was the basic production rendering of the US Navy, in service from the 1970s. It is exactly on carrier aircraft that properly made position lights are among the details that catch the eye.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts and cut them from the casting block with a saw or a knife. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Colored lights can be suggested with clear varnishes (red, green) over a silver base, which gives them depth. Protect your airways when sanding. A coat of primer before painting is a good idea.
The accessory does not contain the model itself, glue or paints. It is supplied as a resin casting for completing an existing kit.
