1:48 F-14D pre-cut painting masks from Reskit are cut for the F-14D kit from AMK.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from Reskit holds pre-cut painting masks for the F-14D model in 1:48 scale. It is cut for the AMK kit; the same manufacturer also makes a separate set of the same name for the Tamiya kit, and since the two differ precisely in the target model, choose according to the box you have at home. The set is neither a kit nor a part of a model, but a painting aid.
The F-14D is the last production version of the carrier-based fighter with a variable-geometry wing. It differs from the earlier versions in its engines and cockpit equipment, but the shape of the large two-part canopy stays characteristic and on a model it makes up the largest glazed area that has to be covered before painting.
The large area of the cockpit tempts you to mask quickly, but it is exactly there that patience pays. Lay the masks onto dry, degreased glazing, one edge first, and only then smooth them from the center out to the edges so that no air is left underneath. Cover any uncovered remains of the cockpit with additional tape or fill them with masking fluid. Lay the paint on first in the shade of the inner frame and only then in the final camouflage, and the transition will look more convincing. If a gloss coat under the decals awaits the model, take the masks off before varnishing, otherwise a step will appear at the edge.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
