Aires F-16C Fighting Falcon landing gear bays (1:48) are a resin set that replaces the plastic wheel wells with detailed castings for the C version.

A detail set from the Czech maker Aires in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model, but a resin accessory — landing gear bays (wheel wells) in cast resin, usually with a little photo-etch. The bay is the space in the airframe into which the landing gear retracts after takeoff and which is clearly visible on a finished model. This set is worked out for the F-16C version.
The set replaces the shallow, simplified plastic bays with faithful castings full of ribs, wiring and hydraulics. It is intended for the F-16C plastic kit from Tamiya. Note the distinction: a version of the bays for a different F-16 kit also exists — this one is worked out specifically for the C version from Tamiya. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of parts on the packaging of the set.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash off the mold release agent and degrease them. It is usually necessary to sand out space in the plastic so that the resin bay seats properly. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; expect to fine-tune the fit. Wear a respirator when sanding resin.
An accessory to a kit, not a stand-alone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
