A photo-etched accessory set for a model of the two-seat F-16D Block 50 in 1:48 scale. Intended for refining a finished kit further.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-16 is among the most widespread single-engine Western combat aircraft and serves in dozens of countries. The F-16D version is a two-seater: the second seat behind the pilot is used in training and wherever the work on board is shared between two men. The Block 50 designation refers to one of the production batches, which differ from one another in equipment and in details on the airframe.
Photo-etched parts for the F-16D Block 50 model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch has one great advantage over plastic: it is thin, so elements that in reality have the thickness of sheet metal or wire look markedly finer once glued on than their plastic counterparts. Which parts of the model the set covers and which kit it is prepared for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by twisting, so that they do not bend. Dress the remnant left after separation with a fine file. Make the bends over a sharp edge or in a photo-etch bending tool, so that the edges come out straight and crisp. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount, best of all with the tip of a toothpick. Degrease the parts before painting and use a primer suitable for metal, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
