This is a detail resin set of the two-seat pilot's compartment, not an airplane model. The set replaces the cockpit from a plastic kit with a resin form with the instrument panels of both the front and the rear station, side consoles and frames. The F-16D version is two-seat, so the set covers a tandem cockpit different from that of the single-seat F-16C. The set is intended for more experienced modelers; to seat it, the inner fuselage walls of the kit usually have to be adapted. It is made by Aires.
The General Dynamics (later Lockheed Martin) F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine supersonic multirole fighter with a characteristic large canopy and a side-mounted control stick. The F-16D version is two-seat and serves both for training and for combat tasks in which a second crew member comes into play. The cockpit has a markedly reclined seat and modern display instrumentation.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin and ventilate the space. The cockpit is painted before the fuselage is closed; the displays and consoles are set off by a gentle wash, a dry brush and any instrument decals supplied.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
