Aires 1:48 F-4B/N Phantom II auxiliary air intake is a resin detail set that replaces the simplified intake parts of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aires resin detail set in 1:48 scale adds a faithfully rendered auxiliary air intake to a model of the McDonnell Douglas F-4B/N Phantom II. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces the simplified plastic parts from the box with a fine casting with realistic internal structure. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want to refine the area of the air supply to the engines.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine multirole fighter and one of the most successful Western machines of the Cold War. The F-4B and F-4N versions served with the US Navy as carrier interceptors and multirole fighters. The side air intakes are a characteristic feature of the Phantom's airframe.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Separate them from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet. Spray the inner surfaces with a base coat and bring them out with a wash so that the structure shows.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
