A resin landing gear bay set including the gear doors, from Aires. It replaces the gear bays of a plastic kit with a more accurate casting carrying deeper definition of the walls, the ribs and the piping, and it adds separate doors for the gear bays. It is an accessory for more experienced modelers, built into a base model of the F-4 Phantom II in the C and D versions in 1:48 scale.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was an American two-seat supersonic multirole combat aircraft. The F-4C and F-4D versions served with the US Air Force and differed mainly in avionics and equipment. The Phantom became one of the most widespread Western machines of its era.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the mating surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding resin. Lay down a primer before painting; the doors can be fitted in the open position and the depth of the bay emphasized with light shading.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
