A resin detail set, not an airplane model. The set faithfully casts the landing gear bays of the F-4 Phantom II carrier fighter in the J and S versions, with a rich structure of walls, bracing and lines. It replaces the simplified plastic bays and lifts the realism of the landing gear section. It is intended for kits of this Phantom in 1:48 scale.
The F-4 Phantom II was an American two-seat twin-engine supersonic fighter and multirole aircraft. The J and S versions served with the US Navy and the Marine Corps; the S was a later upgrade with improved systems and airframe. The Phantom is one of the best-known machines of the Cold War.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw and level the surfaces; wear a respirator when sanding resin, as the dust is harmful to health. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, not with ordinary cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting.
