A brake chute housing cover for the F-5E, F-5F, F-5N and RF-5E Tiger II is a small add-on part from the Quickboost brand in 1:48 scale. It replaces the corresponding spot on the tail of your own model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Quickboost focuses on individual details that can move a model up without much work, and this part is exactly such a case. It deals with the cover of the brake chute compartment on the tail of the Tiger II in the E, F and N versions and the reconnaissance RF-5E. It is an accessory for a model under construction, not a kit of its own.
The light Tiger II fighter became one of the most widespread combat aircraft of its category and served with dozens of countries. The brake chute housed in the tail between the nozzles shortened the landing run, which mattered on shorter runways. On the real machine the closed chute housing makes up a prominent shape division that is worth an exact rendering.
First remove the original shape from the kit carefully and level the area with a file so that the part sits down without a gap. Once glued, run a thin layer of filler along the joint and sand it away to nothing. Paint only once the surrounding tail area is finished, so that the shade follows on; a slight accentuation of the parting line in a dark tone will give the spot the depth it needs.
The N designation is carried by the machine used by the US Navy in the adversary role in training, while the reconnaissance variant has a lengthened nose with room for cameras. The tail stays the same on all the listed versions, so one part will go onto a fighter, a trainer and a reconnaissance build without further modification.
The package contains neither paints nor glue.
