Eduard 1:48 F-6 Mustang national insignia is a set of decals with national markings for the reconnaissance version of the Mustang in 1:48 scale.

This is not a kit but a standalone sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale aimed at the national insignia of the aircraft. Specialized sheets of this kind have a practical reason: the insignia tend to be the most conspicuous feature on a model, they are large, and any inaccuracy in shape, shade or thickness of the border shows at once. A standalone sheet also helps when the original decals in the kit are yellowed, damaged or poorly printed. The number of pieces, sizes and versions is stated on the packaging of the sheet.
F-6 is the designation of the reconnaissance variant of the North American Mustang fighter. It differed from the fighter version in the installation of photographic equipment in the rear fuselage, while the external outline of the aircraft stayed practically the same. On a model the difference shows mainly in the camera windows and in different service markings, which makes the decals the key part of the build for this variant.
The base under the decals has to be glossy, or a silvery haze will show under the film. Large insignia settle better if you put a drop of water underneath and adjust the position with a soft brush. Soak the excess water up with a paper towel from the center toward the edges so that no bubbles are left under the film. Over engraved lines use a decal softener and press the decal down lightly with a cotton swab. Once it is dry, give the whole model a protective coat in the sheen you want, so that the edges of the film disappear and the insignia looks sprayed on.
The decals are supplied on their own, without a kit and without paints. The exact contents of the sheet are stated on the packaging.
