The superstructures of ship models are full of surfaces that stand against each other at different angles, and that is exactly where the gray Grey Reflectance High Low FS36373 from Lifecolor comes into its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A gray shade from the acrylic range of the Italian brand Lifecolor. The name refers to the reflectance of the surface and carries the number of the American FS36373 color standard, by which you can compare the tone with what other makers offer.
Where the side of a hull is one long area, a superstructure is a jigsaw of walls, bulkheads and roofs facing in all directions. Each of them catches the light differently, so a single shade acts one way on the vertical wall of a bridge and another on the horizontal roof of a rangefinder. Modelers usually let that work in their favor: they spray the surfaces one tone and let the difference in reflection draw the shape out. Anyone who wants to go further adds a barely darker cast to the verticals and lightens the horizontal surfaces slightly instead, so that the model looks convincing even in a display case with a single source of light.
For builders of ships who are concerned that their superstructure should not merge with the hull into one gray mush, and for everyone looking for a mid gray anchored by a standard number.
