A photo-etched detail set F2H-2 – landing flaps in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not a model of an airplane but a set of photo-etched parts for a faithful rendition of the landing flaps of the McDonnell F2H-2 Banshee carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed photo-etched set from Eduard aimed at the landing flaps of the plastic model of the McDonnell F2H-2 Banshee carrier-based jet fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory. The set replaces the coarser plastic flaps with a fine photo-etched structure and as a rule lets them be shown in the extended position.
The McDonnell F2H Banshee was an American twin-engine carrier-based jet fighter of the start of the 1950s. The F2H-2 version was among the main variants put into action with the US Navy, in the Korean War among other places, where it served for escort and for attacks on ground targets. The machine stood out for its good range and ceiling.
The flaps are made up of photo-etched layers, which are bent in a photo-etch bending tool and joined with super glue. The matching plastic parts have to be cut away carefully and cleaned up. Degrease the parts before the clear coat and spray on a primer.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
