This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains fine metal parts for refining plastic models of the Douglas F4D-1 Skyray aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit - it is an accessory that is glued into a base kit already under construction. The parts aim above all at the cockpit and the interior: the instrument panel, side consoles, seat belts and the small details that plastic cannot capture.
The Douglas F4D Skyray was an American carrier interceptor of the 1950s with a pronounced delta wing. It was the first aircraft of the US Navy to take the absolute world speed record, and it stood out for an exceptional rate of climb that got it up to intruders quickly. It served with the navy as well as the marine corps.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, shape them in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Once painted and with the recesses brought out, the interior gains a great deal.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
