Eduard SPACE F4U-1D Corsair 1:48

A detail set from Eduard's SPACE line for models of the F4U-1D Corsair fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane but an upgrade set for the cockpit. It combines 3D-printed elements of the main and side instrument and control panels, lifted off moistened backing paper, with color-finished photo-etched steel seat belts. The result is a realistic, three-dimensional-looking cockpit interior without the laborious hand painting of dials.

What the set offers

The 3D decals have fine reflections on the dial glass and legible lettering, so once applied the panel looks three-dimensional. The photo-etched belts in colored steel add both the fabric and the metal details of the restraint system to the cockpit.

Use

• Moisten only the backing paper with a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, lift the element with tweezers and transfer it onto the cleaned-up surface.
• Fix the elements with white PVA glue and let them dry thoroughly; do not use a decal softener or setting solution, as their chemicals would damage the printed resin and ruin the element.
• Bend the photo-etched belts to the pattern and fix them with a glue intended for photo-etched parts; on the 3D elements themselves the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue.
• Intended for models of the F4U-1D Corsair in 1:48 scale.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want to raise the detail of a cockpit quickly and effectively without lengthy painting of the instruments.

It is an upgrade set, not a model in its own right. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
