It is not an airplane model but a drop-in detail accessory. This package from Quickboost contains exactly cast resin barrels for the onboard guns of the night version of the F4U-5 Corsair fighter, in the form without pylons. The hollow barrels with crisp definition replace the softly rendered plastic parts and lift the realism of a model in 1:48 scale at once.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier fighter with a characteristic inverted gull wing. The F4U-5 version from the end of the 1940s had a more capable engine and in its night variant carried a radar; it proved itself as late as the Korean War.
Quickboost parts are designed as drop-in, that is with a minimum of rework. Wash the resin barrels to remove mold release, cut them off the casting block carefully and fit them in place of the plastic ones. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); the muzzles can be lightly brought out with a darker color.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
