A resin detail set for experienced modelers, not an airplane kit. The set replaces the landing gear bays of the Grumman F6F Hellcat, the American carrier-based fighter, in the F6F-3 and F6F-5 versions in 1:48 scale. Faithfully cast bays with rich structure take the place of the shallow and bare spaces that a plastic kit offers.
The castings capture the walls and ceilings of the bays with stiffeners, hydraulics and riveting. The Hellcat was a rugged fighter with a wide landing gear track, so open, finely worked bays are clearly visible when the model is seen from below and markedly raise its realism. The set is shaped for the corresponding Hellcat kit in this scale.
This is a resin detail set, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
