A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost (Aires) brand. It is not a model of the airplane but a detailed resin engine for a build of the Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat fighter. The set replaces the simpler part from the base kit and makes it possible to show the powerplant with the cowling open.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier fighter of the US Navy in the Second World War. The F6F-5 version was among the most widespread and was powered by the air-cooled Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine. The engine made up a prominent forward part of the fuselage.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The detail of the engine comes into its own once it is painted and gone over lightly with a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
