A colored, pre-printed and self-adhesive photo-etched set from the Zoom line by Eduard. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for detailing the cockpit of the plastic kit of the F6F-5 Hellcat carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. The set is laid out for the simpler kits of the Weekend edition, to which it adds interior and belt detail. The printed parts are simply stuck in place.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War that became the backbone of the US Navy fighter squadrons in the Pacific. The F6F-5 version was the most widely produced variant, with an improved engine and refined aerodynamics; the Hellcat helped win air superiority over the Pacific.
The self-adhesive instrument panel and side consoles are stuck straight onto the interior parts, and the small metal pieces are secured with super glue. On the simpler kits of the Weekend edition the set raises the detail of the cockpit noticeably.
This is an accessory, not a model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
