F8F-1 Bearcat 3D interior decals 1:48 are a set of color 3D decals from Quinta Studio for a raised, ready-colored cockpit; they are applied in lukewarm water. Target kit: Academy.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set of color 3D decals from Quinta Studio replaces flat cockpit parts with raised, pre-colored detail printed on a flexible film. It usually contains the instrument panel, the side panels and the seat belts. These are neither etched metal nor a casting: the parts are printed on backing decal paper and are applied in water like a conventional wet decal. The set is intended for F8F-1 Bearcat models in 1:48 scale. The decals are shaped for the parts of the Academy kit.
The Grumman F8F-1 Bearcat was a postwar light carrier fighter of the US Navy. The designers built the smallest and lightest possible airframe around the powerful R-2800 radial engine, which gave it an exceptional rate of climb and agility.
Cut the part out of the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and, once it has come free, slide it off the backing paper into place. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so first spray the surface underneath and go over it with a gloss clear coat, on which the part will hold; on complex areas a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as that chemistry attacks the printed resin. Press the part carefully into the detail with a cotton swab and blot the excess water away.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
