A resin detail accessory in 1:48 scale from CMK. The set holds corrected, that is more accurate, main landing gear wheels for the Grumman F9F Cougar carrier fighter. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement for the wheels from the box, which tend to be made of two halves with a visible seam across the tire tread.
The Grumman F9F Cougar was an American carrier jet fighter with a swept wing, derived from the straight-winged Panther. Accurately cast resin wheels do away with the need to sand a seam and reproduce both the tread and the hub more faithfully.
Wash the parts, cut the casting blocks off and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The tires can easily be masked and painted separately from the hubs; a slight flat spot where they meet the ground will raise the realism.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package. Sand resin with your airways protected.
