Pre-painted seat belts in photo-etched steel for Fairey Gannet models in the AS.1 and AS.4 versions in 1:48 scale. The parts are printed in color and self-adhesive; you only have to separate them from the fret, shape them and stick them on the seats. The steel base holds a bend better than brass, so the belts look realistically draped. The set replaces flat plastic or decal belts and sharpens up the multi-seat crew compartment.
The Fairey Gannet was a British carrier-based anti-submarine aircraft with two contra-rotating propellers driven by a turboprop. It served with the Royal Navy and had a multi-man crew, so several sets of belts sharpen up the individual stations. The AS.1 and AS.4 versions differed in their powerplant and equipment.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, shape them with flat tweezers and make the bends over an edge. The self-adhesive layer is usually enough; on joints under strain a drop of super glue can be added. Painting is not needed, only touching the edges up as required.
This is an add-on set, not an aircraft model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
